Nautical Nonsense has been an idea floating around in my head for years now. When I was a kid I used to hang out down below on Schooner Freedom and set up a little shop and sell key chains, bracelets, and other nautical trinkets. My shop was called “Sydney’s Nautical Nonsense”. It was just a shoebox shop, but I loved it.
I spent my youth listening to my dad tell stories about the sea - and not the typical stories about getting caught in storms and giant fish. These stories were about history, how everything in our life comes back to sailing, and the lives of sailors of old.
I figured it was finally time to put all this useless information in my brain somewhere. A self proclaimed lover of history and the ocean, Nautical Nonsense Podcast seemed like a good place to start.
My goal is to share stories of the sea with you, and wherever this podcast evolves to is totally up to the listener. So get involved, tell me which stories you loved, what you want to hear more of, and anything else that may come into your mind.
And of course, thank you for listening.
